Central surprising some with turnaround season

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Central Warriors are in the middle of a writing a great comeback story.

During the 2011-2012 season, the Warriors basketball team notched zero wins in 24 tries.

This season, Central is 8-10 overall, but the real story is their success in league play. The Warriors are 3-2 at the midpoint of the SWL schedule, which puts them just one game behind the league's top team, the Grand Junction Tigers.

For the players, they wanted even more of an impressive story.

"I thought we'd at least be 4-1," said Trey Fair of the Warriors league record.

"But I'm happy with it, we can get more [wins]" he added.

The Warriors travel to Durango and Montezuma-Cortez on Friday and Saturday.
