GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Five wrestlers from the Grand Junction Tigers squad will be heading to Denver for the state tournament Thursday through Saturday.

GJHS sophomore Jacob Trujillo is considered the Tigers best chance for a state title. Trujillo hasn't lost a match this season and he's the top seed in Class 5A's 145 lbs. weight class.

Tigers head coach Cole Allison wants the whole team to enter the tournament with Trujillo's state of mind.

"If you aim high and fall a little short, that's better than the alternative," Allison said on Monday.

"We're going over [to Denver] to win and we want them all to think that way."

Seniors Matt King and Jonny Pauli, junior Louis Guillen, and freshman Cody Lacy are the remaining four wrestlers who qualified for State.
