Winter storm warning for Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO)-- The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow. The advisory extends until 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Through 3 a.m. Christmas Day, snowfall rates will vary with the heaviest snow falling Monday afternoon and evening.

We could see 8-14 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Visibility will be reduced, down to a half mile at times of heavy snowfall.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
