Community members are riding for life. It's part of the Second annual E & A Poker Run which raises awareness for suicide prevention.
Twenty-five motorcycle riders participated in Saturday’s event. The Gomez family started the fundraiser after they lost two sons to suicide in 2011. The family says generous friends, family members and community members helped them get through their tragedy. Now, they want to give back to other families affected by suicide.
"It means a lot to me and our family because we're giving back to the community in memory of the boys and we're doing our best to help prevent other parents and families from the loss of kids or friends or whoever it may be," Amanda Gomez said.
The fundraiser took place at the Brass Rail Bar until 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
