Gust of wind flips small plane in Erie, Colo.

ERIE, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a pilot escaped serious injury when a strong wind gust sent a small plane out of control just before takeoff at Erie's municipal airport.

Police Cpl. Robert Vesco says the pilot was preparing for takeoff Saturday afternoon, but lost control, rolling and flipping the plane upside down in a ditch separating two taxiways. The Longmont Times-Call (http://bit.ly/NiQHrJ ) reports the pilot, whose name was not released, refused medical attention.

No other details were released.
