The weather is contributing to a few fires that have started up in the valley Saturday evening.

Authorities say there are several fires going on near the Utah border, and several other smoke reports because of the lightning storm. The largest of those fires is the Wrigley Fire located in the Bureau of Land Management’s Black Ridge Wilderness area. That's south of Rabbit Valley.

The last report shows it's at 35 acres in size and is expected to grow. Currently there are eight smoke jumpers, an engine and helicopter working to put it out. Other crews are on scene. Authorities say it may appear to be burning in the Monument area but that is not the case.

Rabbit Valley is off I-70 the last exit before Utah, not northeast of Montrose as you show on the map.
