Weight loss stories are used to inspire people every day, and one local woman is taking home the "Most Inspirational" title for Gold's Gyms around the world.
Lindsey Cotter was nationally recognized as Gold's Gym most inspirational member of the year. She was chosen over members from more than 700 Gold's Gyms across the U.S. Cotter started at 300 pounds, and through hard work and sweat, is down to 170 pounds.
She is very humbled by the experience and says she couldn't have done it without her support system and personal trainer. But just because she's lost 130 pounds so far doesn't mean she'll be slacking in the gym.
"My trainer, Deb [Leany], she's made it good and sure that we've gotten those results, and there's no slacking on me. She's not going to take it easy on me because I’ve lost 130 pounds," Cotter said.
"Now we're jumping, we're running, we're sprinting, you know, lifting heavy weights, we lift light weights and do a lot of reps. The thing I do with them is they never know what they're going to walk into," personal trainer Deb Leany said of her workouts with Cotter.
Cotter still hopes to lose 20 pounds. She says she is still in shock over winning the award, and says this experience is one of the best things that's ever happened to her.
