Man airlifted to Denver hospital after rollover near Wolcott

A man is airlifted to a Denver hospital following a rollover crash near Wolcott Saturday night.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Nineteen-year old Francisco Soto Cano was driving westbound on Highway 6 when he drove off the road and rolled down an embankment. Soto Cano suffered minor injuries, but was able to escape the wreckage on his own.

His passenger, 34-year old Octavio Mendoza-Almaran was pinned inside when the vehicle landed upside down. Mendoza-Almaran was taken to a medical center in Vail before being flown to Denver. Authorities say alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the crash. Soto Cano has been arrested, but no charges have been filed as of yet.
