Pear Park Elementary overnight break-in; one man caught

School is out, but one local elementary school is seeing some unwanted visitors. Three break in to Pear Park Elementary School, but only one is caught.

Police responded to Pear Park Elementary school around 2:30 a.m. after the school's alarm went off. A K-9 officer saw a man walking away from one of the school's doors upon arrival. That man was 21-year old Jordan Mackey of Clifton.

Authorities say Mackey and two others broke into the school through the skylight on the roof. They used a garden hose to let themselves down, and once inside, the three vandalized the school.

The other two individuals escaped. Mackey is being charged with the felony version of criminal mischief as well as second degree burglary. Authorities are still looking for the other two individuals involved.

If you have any information, you're encouraged to call Crime Stoppers or the Grand Junction Police Department.

I am shocked that a 21 year old "man" would find it fun to vandalize an elementary school. Wow! What a threesome of pathetic guys.

Let's clean out the shallow end of the gene pool and get rid of these guys. Between the vandalism and the cost of arresting, warehousing, and processing him, he's cost society an order of magnitude more than he's worth.

You all are stupid. It's called a mistake. People learn and grow from it.
