Junction softball let early lead slip away

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)--- The Montrose Indians spoiled an early lead and great pitching performance by Cierra Cosslett on Tuesday to defeat the Grand Junction Tigers 5-3.

Arrianna Diaz led the game off with a home run, and the Tigers had a 2-0 lead up until the third inning. Hannah Etchart had a two-out, two-run single in the third to tie the game 2-2 and Montrose eventually got the lead off of Cosslett. Despite the loss, Cosslett went the distance and struck out nine.

GJHS falls to 7-6 on the season, and they will host Central in their next game on Sept. 23.
