GRAND JUNCTION - A six run burst in the first inning gave the Central Warriors a lead they never relinquished in a 13-6 win over the Montrose Indians at Canyon View Park on Friday evening.
The Warriors took a 4-0 lead on a run scoring single by Garrett Whiting and that lead grew to six on Gary Nolan's two run triple in the first inning.
The win allows the Warriors to maintain sole possession of third place in the Southwestern League standings while the Indians stay in fourth.
The Warriors next game is against first place Fruita Monument on Tuesday, April 29 at Suplizio Field at 6:00 p.m.
