MONTROSE, Colo. (KKCO) -- After going 0-10 in SWL play two years ago, the Fruita Monument boys team has won 20-straight league games and two SWL titles. They capped off another perfect southwestern league season with a 71-49 win over Montrose on Friday night.
Drew Bridges and Alex Padgett had 15 points each for FMHS (16-6, 10-0). Montrose (15-7, 5-5) finished 3rd in SWL play.
The Montrose girls team continues to have FMHS's number, beating the Wildcats 66-43 to finish second in the SWL standings.
Montrose (17-6, 8-2) only suffered two losses in league play - both to Grand Junction. FMHS (14-9, 7-3) was the only team to beat Grand Junction in league play.
