FMHS softball headed to state for third straight year

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Monument Wildcats breezed through the 5A Regionals to earn a No. 6 spot in the 5A State Tournament.

The Wildcats will play their first game of the single-elimination tournament on Friday against No. 11 Ralston Valley. Ralston Valley was also in the same regional bracket as FMHS, but the two teams did not face each other.

The Montrose Indians also made their way into the 4A State Tournament, and they will take on No. 2 Pueblo South as the No. 15 seed.
