GJHS uses long ball to down Montrose 25-7

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Grand Junction Tigers scored 25 runs off 18 hits to thrash the Montrose Indians 25-7 at Montrose.

Junction got a two-run homer from Cory DeRush in the first inning, a three-run home run from Sean Rubalcaba in the second inning, and a grand slam from Tyler Gastineau in the third inning. Steven Baldwin pitched four effective innings despite being hit in the ankle on a ground ball back at him on his first pitch of the game.

In their two games, Junction scored 41 runs in 10 innings to grab two wins over the Indians.

Next up the Tigers will travel to Montezuma-Cortez on April 8, and the Indians will host Central on April 12.

    I think montrose is primed for a big stretch down the road. I feel like they have the best talent at each position so if anybody is already saying there done. I dont think so.
