GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Grand Junction girls ran away with a 54-40 win and sole possession of the lead in the SWL, and the Montrose boys edged GJ in their own gym 57-54.
The Tiger girls (15-3, 5-0) defeated the Indians (9-9, 4-1) to claim the top of their conference. Jamie Derrieux led the game with 35 points.
The Indian boys (15-3, 4-1) beat the Tiger boys (10-7, 3-2) to bounce back from a loss to the top-ranked Fruita Wildcats. Montrose is now alone in second, and one game behind FMHS.
