Montrose vs. GJHS girls basketball preview

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- For the first time in four years, someone other than Central will be crowned the Southwestern League Champion.

Both Montrose and Grand Junction have the best shot, sitting atop the league at 7–and–1. But Tuesday night, one of the two will take control.
The Tigers host the Indians, with first place, and most likely, a league title on the line.

Junction won the first matchup by 16 points, and they're a lot healthier having returned Jamie Derrieux, who missed two months with a broken hand. Derrieux played in both games against Durango and Montezuma-Cortez over the weekend.

As for montrose, they've won their last three by an average of 26 points per game. They've also won 11 of their last 12, but again that one loss came at home to Grand Junction.
