GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Montrose Indians' softball team defeated Widefield 6-4 on Saturday to advance to the state finals.
For the Indians, it was great redemption as they had lost to Widefield earlier in the day 11-0. After starting the day off with that loss, they went on to beat Air Academy 7-0, and finished off the tournament with the 6-4 win over Widefield.
Palisade, on the other hand, lost two of three in their regional tournament to end their season. The Bulldogs lost their first game to Mesa Ridge 13-7, but rebounded to beat Palmer Ridge 8-7. But, in a rematch with Mesa Ridge, Palisade was eliminated 14-4.
