Three-way tie for SWL goes to Durango

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- With wins tonight, Montrose, Grand Junction, and Durango all finished tied atop the SWL with seven wins and three losses. But because of a very complicated tie-breaker, the league title went the Durango Demons.

The first tie-breaker goes to the best team in head-to-head match ups among the top three teams:

GJ went 2-0 against Durango
Montrose went 2-0 against GJ
and Durango went 2-0 against Montrose.

Since all three teams went 2-2 against the top opponents, the tie-breaker then went to the team with the best record against the fourth place team (Fruita Monument):

GJ went 1-1 against FMHS
Durango went 2-0 against FMHS
Montrose went 2-0 against FMHS.

That eliminated the Grand Junction Tigers, but there was still a tie with Montrose and Durango. With that, the tie-breaker went back to head-to-head match-ups, and because the Demons won both games against the Montrose Indians, the Demons are the SWL champions.
