Bush Saying Goodbye To Washington, Hello To Texas

Washington (AP) George W. Bush starts the day as president and ends it as a Texas resident.

As is custom, the President and First Lady will welcome president-elect Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, to the White House for coffee this morning. Vice president-elect Joe Biden and his wife Jill, as well as leaders of the joint congressional committee on inaugural ceremonies will also be there in the blue room.

Once Obama is sworn in, Bush will head to Andrews Air Force Base and then fly to a rally in Midland, Texas. The familiar blue-and-white presidential aircraft will take him there, but it’ll be called special air mission 28000 instead of Air Force One, since Bush will no longer be president.

After the rally, he’ll head to his ranch in Crawford.
