ORLANDO (AP) It now appears that first reports about the severity of Tiger Woods' injuries from a car accident were overblown.

A spokesman for Tiger Woods says the world's top-ranked golfer was not seriously injured in the accident outside his Florida home early this morning.

Glenn Greenspan's comments contradict those released by the Florida Highway Patrol earlier in the day, which first said Woods was seriously hurt.

The Patrol says Woods, the winner of 14 Grand Slam tournaments, hit a hydrant and a tree after pulling out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sports utility vehicle. The patrol report also says that alcohol was not involved, but that the accident remains under investigation.

Woods has some facial cuts and was treated at a local hospital and released.
