GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The X Games will no longer feature the snowmobile or motocross "Best Trick" competitions.

The safety of snowmobiles came under severe scrutiny after 25-year-old snowmobiler Caleb Moore passed away due to injuries sustained during the event. It was the first death in the X Games' 18-year history.

Later in the games, a snowmobiler fell of his machine and teh sled veered into the crowd. Nobody was injured.

An ESPN spokesman says the elimination of the "Best Trick" was actually under consideration before these events happened in January in Aspen.
