KANAB, Utah (AP) -- A 57-year-old woman from South Jordan, Utah was killed, two women in their 20s are missing and others are injured after a motorboat hit a houseboat and flipped on Lake Powell.

Authorities say 59-year-old Adrian Jackman was driving the boat when he apparently became distracted by his child passengers and crashed Thursday morning near Dangling Rope Marina in southern Utah.

His wife, Marilyn Jackman, was killed. His daughter, Jessica Jackman, and another woman, Valerie Rae Bradshaw, are missing. Divers are looking for them.

Authorities say most of the 13 people on the motorboat were family members. The driver, his 11-year-old granddaughter, and another person were taken to a hospital and released.

Nobody on the houseboat was injured.

Lake Powell is a popular place for houseboat vacations.
