1 killed in crash involving pickup and school bus

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say one person in a pickup was killed when the vehicle crashed head-on into a school bus near Florissant in the foothills west of Colorado Springs.

Seven students on the bus were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

KRDO-TV reports the truck was headed east on U.S. Highway 24 when it crossed into oncoming traffic at about 6:40 a.m. Sunday. The Colorado State Patrol says 52 students were on the bus at the time of the crash and all were under the age of 17.

The bus driver was uninjured.

Authorities have not said where the bus was headed, and the name of the person who was killed has not been released.
