Troopers say the drunk driver was going down G Road near Front Street in Palisade when he failed to negotiate a turn and went airborne. He then knocked out the crossing bars and signs before hitting the ground.
The car only sustained minor damages, but the crossing signs were totally destroyed.
The driver was arrested for drunk driving and the car was towed.
Railroad employees arrived shortly there after to repair the caution equipment.
