With the threat of identity theft, fighting the problem can be as simple as shredding old personal documents.
Last month the first ever community Shred–A–Thon will be held Saturday in Grand Junction. The "fight fraud– shred instead" is a free identity theft prevention program.
From 10am to 2pm you can bring up to three boxes of personal and financial documents to the First Assembly of God Church parking lot and they'll shred them.
