Bond is set for a Grand Junction teen charged with attempted first degree murder.

Bond for 18 year old Michael Lamenca is set at $300,000. In court Tuesday afternoon District Attorney Pete Hautzinger argued the bond should be set at $500,000.

Investigators with the Mesa County Sheriff's office say Lamenca shot 21–year–old Jeremy Rosales in the stomach Sunday night.

An arrest affidavit suggest the shooting may have been gang related. Lamenca says the shooting was an accident. Authorities say Rosales lost the use of a kidney, spleen and suffered other serious injuries.

Lamenca will be back in court later this month.

Daniel Rachal, 17, Grand Junction, is also facing attempted first degree murder charges for his role in the shooting.
