More than 50 people gather on the Redlands to remember those lost to suicide through a Walk for Hope.
For the second year, the Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation put on the Walk for Hope fundraiser, which this year began at the Albertsons on Broadway.
The walk is a way to get awareness out and to let people know they can take part in preventing suicides.
Here in Mesa County suicide rates are twice as high as the national average, with 50 percent of suicides occurring among men who work in the construction and oil and gas industries.
Last year the suicide prevention foundation raised thousands of dollars for its cause and hope for the same if not better result this year.
