Fire Causes $300,000 Dollars in Damage

A fire breaks out in a home on Meander Drive, causing $300,000 in damages.

Just after 11pm, four units from the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a fire in the garage of a three story home. Shortly there after, a fifth unit showed up to help.

The fire was quickly contained to the garage and the living area above it.

There were five people in the home at the time of the fire; only one person was treated for minor burns.

There was a great deal of smoke in the house, but the damage lies within the garage and the room above it. Structure damage is estimated at about $300,000 for the home that is valued at over $650,000.
