It's what many Americans dream of their whole lives, owning a home. Habitat for Humanity is helping make that dream come true for one Mesa County woman and her son.

Many gathered as a dedication ceremony was held for Sarah Debrucque. She is the new owner of a home built by Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity of Mesa County partners with people like Sarah who desperately want to own a home, but have trouble achieving that goal without help.

Habitat for Humanity home owners apply to take part in the program, as well as, putting in about 500 sweat equity hours.

The objective of the organization is to help provide a decent, affordable home to families.

This year habitat for humanity is expecting to have six or seven homes completed. In the past only two or three had been built in a years time.
