A spokesman with the Division of Wildlife says it’s having a hard time finding out the name of the hunter gored by a buck deer Sunday afternoon.
According to the Division of Wildlife, the man was hunting with a friend in the Hamilton area in–between Craig and Meeker. After shooting a deer the men went to retrieve it, but the buck wasn't dead and it charged at the man and gored him severely.
His friend drove him to the local hospital and later he was airlifted to St. Mary's.
Because of HIPPA Laws, the Division of Wildlife is having a hard time getting a hold of the hunter or finding out his condition.
Officials plan to fill out an accident report but say without knowing who the victim is makes it hard.
