Local Marine Assaulted

A Marine comes back from a seven month stint in Iraq without a scratch, and now he has a broken jaw.

Jake Chandler returned home to Grand Junction on Friday, from a military base after serving in Iraq. That night, Jake his brother and some friends went to a house party near Mesa State College.

At around 2 A.M. Saturday morning he says a car pulled up outside of the house and the people inside jumped out and started fighting. Jake tried to leave but before he knew it he was knocked out.

Chandler is filing Assault charges and the incident is currently being investigated by Grand Junction Police.
