Man Injured While Out Exercising With Hawk

An injured hiker was rescued Monday near Mack.
The Sheriff's Office, the BLM and Lower Valley Fire Department were all called out to help the man.

Officials say he was out exercising in the rugged terrain with his hawk when he slipped and a large rock hit him. He suffered injuries to his arm, leg and back.

Crews hiked in and stabilized him and then used an ATV to transfer him to an awaiting ambulance.

His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
