Champions Needed To Help Raise Awareness Of Alzheimer's

November is National Alzheimer's Awareness Month, and the Alzheimer's Association is recruiting champions to help educate the public about the devastating disease.

Champions are asked to wear a purple shirt with either the word "move," "voice," or "open" on it. Community members who participate are then asked to learn some facts and help raise awareness. For example, "did you know that every 72 seconds someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease?" The other part of your job as a champion is to recruit others.

11 News Reporter Natalie Pallone and 11 News Anchor Jean Reynolds are champions and they hope you'll join too.

If you are interested in participating call the Alzheimer's Association at 256–1274.
