The man who was the focus of the sex scandal involving a Colorado mega-church is now at the center of a new sex scandal involving Idaho Senator Larry Craig.

The Idaho Statesman quotes eight men, including a male escort, as saying they either had sex with Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig, or were propositioned by him.

The Idaho Statesman acknowledges its report is not based on definitive evidence. But it says background checks didn't disprove the men's stories.

One of the men, Mike Jones, is the former Denver escort whose allegations disgraced Ted Haggard, who founded New Life Church in Colorado Springs and was president of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Craig calls the report “completely false,” and accused Jones of lying about a sexual encounter so he can sell his book titled “I Had to Say Something,'' but Jones says that's untrue.

Mike Jones spoke Sunday with Denver's KCNC-TV. He told the station “they can call me a prostitute, a hooker, I don't care. I'll put my credibility up against Senator Craig's any day. He's got a history of lying, he's been caught lying. I'm not lying, I have nothing to gain by it. He has everything to lose by it.''

Craig pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after his toe-tapping arrest during a men's room sex sting at a Minnesota airport.

But he is trying to have that overturned.
