Shooting Suspect on the Loose

The Grand Junction Police Department is still searching for a shooting suspect and they are asking for your help to find him.

Investigators say no tips have come into Crimestoppers about a shooting that happened at around 4:00 p.m. Monday evening at 528 Melody Lane.

Nisley Elementary and Bookcliff Middle School were briefly placed on lock-down during the incident.

Kevin Bonds, 26, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with a gun shot wound to the chest and has since been released.

Police say Bonds is not cooperating with their investigation.

Officers say they have very little information to go off of except for a description of a vehicle. Police say the shooting suspect fled the scene in a full-size Dodge four-door extended cab pickup truck, silver in color.

If you have any information on the shooting or the suspect call Crimestoppers at 241-STOP. You could be elligible for a $1,000 reward.

So far this year tips to Crimestoppers have led to 12 arrests and the program has given away more than $4,000 in reward money.

11 News has learned the victim, 26-year-old Bonds has been arrested several times. Tune into 11 News at 10p.m. for the details.
