A Rifle man who says he accidentally ran over a man on Interstate 70 pleaded not guilty this morning to careless driving causing death.

Originally, 28 year old James Wilson was charged with two felony counts of hit and run causing death, but recently authorities discovered that Wilson called 911 to report the incident. Officials say Wilson ran over and killed trucker Paul Dobson as he crossed Interstate 70 to check on the driver of a car he had just crashed into.

Wilson's trial is scheduled for late March.
