School District 51: School Accountability Reports Released

The report card is in for School District 51, but how did they do?

There were some changes in overall performances, but good news from the CSAP information, not one of the schools in District 51 were classified as unsatisfactory.

For Mesa County, middle and high schools are doing okay with most performance ratings at average and high.

But in elementary schools there are problems. Seven different elementary schools were given a performance rating of low with a decline in academic growth. Some of these elementary schools, Columbine, Clifton, and Pear Park showed significant decline.

The school district says this data is not new to them because they saw the numbers back in July and have already started to make changes.

These reports will be mailed to parents by the state.

Grand Junction area schools are so messed up. When are they going to figure out how to teach our children and give them a proper education. I want a college degree, but because of the poor education I am getting at FMHS I am left with only one of two options really. Either go to Mesa (another poor institution of education) or I can take over my dads beef ranching business and live in the middle of nowhere the rest of my life. What would you do? I think the answer is simple. Get out of Colorado and see what the world has to offer!
