Winter Storm Warning for Western Colorado

Denver (AP) A winter storm is forecast to bring more snow to the mountains Friday and Saturday.

Much of Western Colorado is under winter storm warning, with a heavy snow warning in effect in the northwestern corner of the state.

Rain and been falling all morning in Grand Junction and parts of Mesa County.

The National Weather Service says one to two feet of snow could fall in the northern mountains and the southern mountains could get two to three feet.

Moderate to heavy snowfall will continue over the Central and Northern mountains tonight. Eight to sixteen inches are expected by Saturday morning.

The Loveland Pass is closed due to adverse conditions. Chains are required for both the East and West bound Eisenhower Tunnel. Most roads have wet conditions and some have slush and ice spots.
