11 News first brought you the story of how the monstrous Tower Crane at St. Mary's is changing Grand Junction. Now we take you up into the crane to meet Scott Johnson, the crane's operator and in his words, the "quarterback of the job."

Johnson has been operating cranes for 30 years and in that time he's had a chance to see much of the world, mostly from the cab of various cranes. He's worked in Vail, Aspen, New Jersey, and Saudi Arabia.

He climbs 289 steps everyday, going up at six in the morning and venturing down at about 5 o'clock at night.

Johnson grew up in Grand Junction and is thrilled to be a part of such a large project in his hometown.
