Teen Dies After Tragic Farming Accident

A young boy was tragically killed Saturday after falling into a trailer being loaded with corn.

13 year old Kacey Mumm and his twin brother Ronnie were helping their father load corn into a semi-truck this past Saturday. Kacey's aunt says the boys were jumping on the corn to pack it down when the pile caved in, Ronnie was able to hold on to a metal bar above him but Kacey wasn't so fortunate.

His aunt says he was crushed by the corn and he suffocated, Kacey died Sunday at St. Mary's hospital. Kacey was a straight "A" student who just made the Olathe Middle School's honor roll, he was the Quarterback of the football team and a loving son and brother. Family members say that the loss of Kasey is something that will take them a long time to cope with.

The Mumm family is arranging Kacey's funeral and they hope to hold it this Saturday at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Montrose. Grief counselors are available at Olathe Middle School to help students deal with the death.
