Salvation Army Kettle Donations Down, Less People Carrying Cash

Bell ringers for the Salvation Army say they are hearing a little less jingle in the kettles this year.

The Salvation Army says donations are down almost 20%
and it may be because people are carrying plastic instead of cash.

Although the Salvation Army isn't calling it a trend, financial experts say more and more americans are shopping online and using plastic.

Bell ringers say it's not about how or what you donate, it's all about helping people.

If you would like to donate to the Salvation Army and you don't have cash when you walk by a kettle, you can send a check or donate with a credit card:
