Plane Makes Emergency Landing At GJ Airport

A plane makes an emergency landing at Grand Junction Regional Airport after smoke is seen coming from the cockpit.

Fire crews rushed the runway at around nine o'clock Wednesday morning. The pilot of the Continental Express reported smoke in the cockpit. The pilot told the airport authority their was smoke near the bathrooms but said it cleared when they turned off the air conditioning.

The flight was coming from Houston going to Salt Lake City. Airport officials say the plane landed safely and none of the 45 passengers were hurt.

It took about two hours to check out the plane but passengers were re–boarded and headed back to Salt Lake City.
