Only eight days into the new year and already there have been five cases of sexual assault on a child reported in Mesa County.
The Western Slope Center for Children is used by all law enforcement agencies in Mesa County, the District Attorney's Office, The Department of Human Services and more.
Using a "soft" interview room and stuffed animals, the center is able to gather evidence and interviews that can be used to prosecute a suspect.
Last year the center served 320 victims.
