Smaller schools are needed in Mesa County according to District 51's School Board.
At the school board meeting tonight maintenance and budgetary needs were brought up. The biggest announcement made by the school board was that they want to make the move to smaller schools.
They believe smaller class sizes lead to a better education, but when making the switch will have to take into account the growth in the area which is projected to be 25% over the next 10 years.
The board will meet next month to discuss possible solutions for the committee findings.
