Authorities have called off the search for a missing backcountry hiker and say they believe she's dead.
The Alamosa County Sheriff's Office called the search off for 20 year old Lygon Stevens Saturday afternoon. Stevens was caught in an avalanche with her brother on Thursday. Officials do not believe she could have survived, and say the avalanche danger is high.
According to KUSA in Denver, officials believe she was right in the middle of the slide area where temperatures have dipped 32 degrees below zero.
Stevens brother Nick survived the avalanche. His condition is unknown.
