The two skiers buried in an avalanche Saturday morning in Vail have been named.
The Eagle County Sheriff's Office says Matthew Gustafson and Jackie Rossman, both from the Vail area, were caught in an avalanche in the east Vail chutes.
Officials say both men were experienced backcountry skiers and were wearing avalanche beacons.
Rossman was able to dig himself out and call for help but Gustafson was found dead.
According to a forecaster at the Colorado Avalanche Information center, at least 18 people have been caught in slides and two, including Gustafson, have been killed since December 30.
