Homicide Suspect Arrested in GJ Accused of Shooting Man in Head & Chest

We're learning more about a fugitive arrested in Grand Junction last night. 19–year–old John Leland Neal Jr. is being held on a $1 million dollar bond in the Mesa County Jail.

The Grand Junction Police Department arrested Neal last night at 1945 4th Street after they got a tip from investigators in Mohave County, Arizona.

Authorities say Neal is wanted there for a homicide last month.

Witnesses say they saw him shoot 28-year-old Anthony Martin in the chest and head several times.

Martin was found dead on the side of a road near Kingman, AZ.

Neal will be facing first degree murder charges in Arizona and
he's awaiting extradition.
