The victim of a fatal car crash has been identified as 54-year-old Michelle Lefever of Whitewater, Colorado. She was pronounced dead at 8:00p.m. Friday.

Officials say a white van driven by 21-year-old Trae Frigetto rear-ended Lefever's truck. They say Frigetto then fled the scene of the crash and ran and hid behind the ABC Supply Company store. Frigetto was later found by Grand Junction Police and taken to the hospital. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and took Frigetto into custody on outstanding warrants while they investigate. The passenger in the van was uninjured.

Lefever was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in critical condition where she later died according to officers.

Officers say they are still investigating the accident, and say it's too soon to tell what charges could be filed against Frigetto.

To the Lefever and Maresh Families, Mickie was a former classmate of mine at Cudahy high. She was a great gal in High school and it looks like she continued that greatness in her life. Mickie will be missed dearly but family, freinds and former classmates. Rest in Peace dear Mickie. Trae should get the MAXIMUM allowed by colorado law.

What would Distick 51 do if you had a real snow? Delta had more snow and their school busses rolled. There was no snow day.

Michelle Levefer was 30 days from retiring and looking forward to spending a month in Hawaii in March. This should never had happened, obviously. Trae Frigetto should be strung up by his toes and left to rot in a State Penitentary.

I hope the young man who hit Michelle gets life in prison for leaving the scene and trying to hide from the police. I know that she is going to be greatly missed. And I hope her husband knows that all who knew her loved her very much, and that we give him our condolences for his loss.
