After summer wild fires destroyed acres of land around New Castle. The Bureau of Land Management has teamed up with groups to re-seed.

The BLM, Natural Resource Conservation Service, and the Colorado Division of Wildlife's Habitat program will re-seed areas burned by summer fires using an air tanker.

The week of February 11, 2008, a single engine tanker will drop 1,300 pounds of native grass seed on about 700 acres of land.

Melting snow should provide a good moisture base for growth.
