Former School Board Member To Run For County Commissioner

The first democratic challenger throws his name into the race for county commissioner.

Dan Robinson says he intends to run for the commission seat currently held by Craig Meis.

Robinson, a former school board member, says residents are becoming unhappy with the quality of life in Mesa County, and he hopes to change that.

He says the county needs a more organized energy plan which would allow for oil and gas expansion, but also protect natural resources. He also says because of the massive county growth, there should be 5 county commissioners.

Although he is running against an incumbent, Robinson says he is confident he can win in November.

Robinson says he invites Meis and challenger Jim Doody to several debates over the summer.
